Remnants
Exploration game with cinematic visuals and interactive storytelling.
Remnants is a narrative-driven exploration prototype developed in Unreal Engine with a focus on environmental storytelling, pacing, and player-led discovery. The project was built to test how visual composition, movement flow, and interaction cues can guide users through a scene without heavy UI direction.
The core production pipeline covered level blockout, environment assembly, lighting iterations, and cinematic sequencing for key moments. Particular attention was given to atmosphere and readability so that each area communicates progression through layout, contrast, and focal framing rather than explicit prompts.
As documented in the project report, the prototype was also presented in an exhibition setting for the Goldsmiths DAC 2025 Year 2 final show. This helped evaluate audience response in a public display context, including how players engage with exploration mechanics and how clearly the narrative tone is communicated from short play sessions.
